Need a break from Lolla? We’ve got you covered!

Whether you bought a pass for one day or for the entire festival, there may be a few hours where you’ll want to escape Grant Park.  Why not check out some of our favorite spots?

Chicago has tons of great dining options.  You probably know about the varieties of pizza types available here…and you have most likely heard of our famous deep-dish pizza and Chicago Dogs.  But we have a whole lot more to offer.  You can find lots of delicious quick bites right in the Loop at Chiya Chai, Flaco’s Tacos, JIAO by QXY Dumplings or any of the stalls at the Urbanspace food hall (closed on Sunday). If you’re looking to sit for a bit, we also recommend Burger Bar, The Dearborn, The Marq and Eleven City Diner (breakfast and lunch only). You’ll also want to check out another local institution, Garrett Popcorn.  There are four locations within walking distance of the park.

As you may be aware, Chicago has plenty of good bars, and many can be found within walking distance of Grant Park. The Game Room, on the second floor of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, pairs drinks with table games in a setting that evokes the classic architecture of Chicago mixed with modern updates. More than 130 beers are available at Kasey’s Tavern, and you can catch up on the day’s sports results on their many TVs or enjoy the neighborhood and people-watching on their outdoor dining area. And if Lolla hasn’t given you enough music for the day, head over to Brando’s Speakeasy for karaoke.

Just north of Grant Park is Maggie Daley Park, where you’ll find a climbing wall and a Chicago-themed miniature golf course. When you need to find some peace and calm, stroll through the Cancer Survivors Garden, designed as a celebration of life.  To cool off or hide from rain, check out the Art Institute of Chicago or the Chicago Cultural Center.  If you visit the Cultural Center, be sure to check out their shop Hi Buddy, where you can find great gifts and keepsakes made by local artists.  You can also cross underneath Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive to the Museum Campus, where you can find the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium.

eATLAS also has many self-guided adventures in the neighborhoods near Grant Park. You can stop and start the tours at your leisure before or between shows.  You can learn about Chicago’s history as the center of American architecture or explore street art and sculptures in the Loop and Fulton Market.  The West Loop and the Wabash Arts Corridor are great for grabbing selfies.  Or, you can discover details about Millennium Park and the Near North Side; and check out cool vintage and modern neon signs.
